Class Descriptions

Ashtanga – Students are introduced to the breathing style and fundamentals of Ashtanga; a yoga practice developed by Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. Ashtanga is typically a dynamic, heat building practice that focuses on strength, concentration and flexibility. The Prep class is structured towards the experience and ability of the students who attend. We focus and study poses that require this attention and work towards moving through a flowing practice. Suitable for beginners. (nonheated)

Anusara Inspired Yoga - Anusara Yoga is a powerful hatha yoga system that unifies a Tantric philosophy of intrinsic Goodness with Universal Principles of Alignment. Anusara Yoga's remarkable popularity is due in large part to its uplifting philosophy, epitomized by a "celebration of the heart," that looks for the good in all people and all things. Consequently, students of all levels of ability and yoga experience are honored for their unique differences, limitations, and talents. This life-affirming vision sets the basis for a yoga system in which the harmony and joy of a tightly knit community is exulted. Not only is Anusara Yoga an elegant system of alignment principles and non-dual philosophy, but it is also a wonderful community of highly trained teachers and fun-loving students. Suitable for beginners. (nonheated)

Kid's Yoga - Our Kids Yoga Class is now a drop in session, at $12 per class (you can purchase a class card for your child if you prefer). Take the Moksha class in our heated studio while your child enjoys the many benefits of starting yoga young! In Kids Yoga, children learn to bend and stretch their bodies in fun & creative ways. Yoga, for children, is a wonderful way for them to gain confidence & self esteem in a nurturing environment that is non-competitive. Each class focuses on postures that will develop strength, flexibility & deeper overall awareness.

Moksha & Moksha Flow - The Moksha Yoga series. A 90 minute class will have 2 sets of most postures whereas a 60 minute will flow more with 1 set. Suitable for all levels. Please note Economy classes are held for a discounted price of $7.50.(heated)

Mixed Moksha - These classes are recommended for those who are comfortable with the Moksha sequence, and perhaps open to try and expand a bit more as they will offer a bit more variety than the classical Moksha sequence. This class is still suitable for all level. (heated)

Moksha Charity - is the regular Moksha yoga series but students may only attend by donation (minimum $5.00 - all proceeds go to charity) this class is suitable for students of all levels. (heated)

Moksha Silent - The silent class is the traditional Moksha Yoga series, practiced in silence. The class is guided, without verbal instruction, by your teacher practicing the series with you at the front of the room with deep breath. The class allows the student to explore the depths of their own practice by providing an opportunity to investigate the sensations of the body and the breath more fully. It is a chance to really feel the practice without auditory distraction. This class is best suited for students who are familiar with the series. The silent class at 6am on Wednesday each week and this class is best enjoyed if you're a little familiar with the regular Moksha series (even if you've only been to a couple of classes.) (heated)

Prenatal - Inside you is an innate wisdom that intuitively understands about the very natural process of birth. We help you reconnect with this wisdom, guiding you through a class specifically designed for the journey of pregnancy. Linking yoga postures with the breath will lead you to new discoveries, bringing awareness to the mind, body and spirit, and also the spirit of your baby. The program, conducted in a calm, peaceful environment will help strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion, exercise the spine and increase overall comfort. Yoga can also alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica. A safe, open community allows you to freely discuss any issues, from discomforts and concerns, to the wonderful new changes your body and baby are experiencing.

*Please Note:

  • Pregnancy is one of the most extraordinary times in a woman's life. It is a time for nurturing yourself as well as your unborn child. It’s also time for learning to meditate and find focus in breath. Prenatal Yoga Classes provide safe exercises designed to strengthen and relax your rapidly changing body, preparing you for a conscious childbirth and the opportunity for mother
and child to bond prior to birth.
Prenatal Yoga Classes go beyond the physical realm of movement and embrace pranayama/ breathing techniques that relax the mind and give focus during times of stress and uncertainty as well as meditations that help a mother discover a deeper sense of peace, empowerment as well as lifting fear and doubt out of pregnancy and birth. As a mother’s feelings and emotions are felt by her unborn child it is of utmost importance for am mom to create a peaceful, loving environment around herself. Each class will have a theme designed to be uplifting and bring awareness.
Come join the community of other women on a similar journey. All stages of pregnancy welcome.
